Today the brand new Women’s Refuge in South Auckland received an amazing act of generosity when they were gifted a $10,000 prize of electric appliances from TRA, supplied by Noel Leeming. Karin Glucina, Partner of TRA (New Zealand’s leading market research agency) with her team recently won the NZ Marketing Association (MA) Battle of the Brains, a business simulation that tests marketers strategic marketing ability. The team made up of Karin, Andrew Lewis and Connon Bray decided they would like to donate their grand prize to a charity and with the work that Noel Leeming has done with women’s refuge this was a great fit. “ We are just overwhelmed with this gift from TRA and Noel Leeming,” said Mary, director of the new refuge. “women and their children are struggling when they come to us and this is going to make such a big difference to their lives”.
When TRA notified MA of their intention, Travena Addenbrooke of Noel Leeming completely changed the tech package into being things that women might need if starting again – “there are TV’s, air fryers, tablets, grills, phones, toys and more – we wanted to make it a great Xmas for women in need” said Travina. CEO of MA, John Miles said “this is a wonderful way to finish off a tough year. Both TRA and Noel Leeming have helped to ensure that many families in need this Xmas will have some electronic Xmas cheer. We are thrilled to have facilitated this and it shows there are a lot of wonderful people and businesses in Aoteroa!’
