The Great Trade-Off: Balancing Privacy and Trust in Marketing in the digital age
AI-powered algorithms, dark patterns, intrusive remarketing, convoluted privacy statements, and data breaches. Privacy specialists (and consumers) are increasingly worried about what big businesses and brands globally are doing with consumers’ personal information. And governments around the world are tightening privacy laws.
For marketers, protecting customers’ data privacy should be equally as important as your brand. The risk to your brand reputation is too high to ignore the impact of privacy concerns on consumers' trust. But are we overreacting with overly restrictive legislation?
As part of Privacy Week 2023, the Marketing Association is holding a free webinar to help you understand “The Great Trade-Off: Balancing Privacy and Trust in the digital age”.
Meet the Panel
Head of Data & Analytics, Foodstuffs North Island
Data and analytics have been my focus areas since my computer science and statistics days at uni. My career started in the public health sector, where I worked as a biostatistician, before life gave me the opportunity to apply my skills in a variety of countries and industries, including financial services, media, and live entertainment, before settling in my current role in the FMCG/CPG sector with Foodstuffs North Island.
Using data and analytics to help keep Kiwis fed is something that I’m passionate about (along with about 25,000 other Foodies) and I believe doing so in a way that engenders trust is a critical part of that mission.
