CEO & Founder
Richard is the CEO and founder of Pure SEO, New Zealand’s most awarded search agency. Richard moved to New Zealand in 2009 with his British wife Emily, they now have 2 Kiwi kids, Ethan (10) and Amber (7). Richard was a finalist in the 2019 EY Entrepreneur of the Year and is a columnist for M2 Magazine, M2W Magazine and New Zealand Business magazine.
Richard teaches Digital Marketing and search marketing for University of Auckland (MBA programme), Unitec and The Marketing Association of New Zealand. In 2019 Richard wrote the book ‘How to Get to The Top of Google Search, a Practical Guide’ (Penguin Random House).
Richard is an active investor and mentor to a number of high tech businesses and has sat on the board of Entrepreneurs Organisation (New Zealand) and The Well Foundation.
Brad’s vast digital marketing experience spans three countries and some of the world’s leading businesses.
He was Head of Sales and Marketing at Fishpond Australia and New Zealand, Digital Manager at St John New Zealand, Marketing Manager at myguideireland.com, and Account Manager at Google. Brad has spent many years working on the client side, developing digital strategies and managing teams to implement those strategies. He understands the challenges and priorities from an online marketer’s perspective - the high targets, tight budgets and the education required to gain internal buying to digital strategies. Brad has an MBA in Marketing and Business Strategy.
Director - Digital & Operations
With over a decade’s advertising, digital & leadership experience gained across a wide range of industries including retail, ecommerce, financial services, automotive, telecommunications, FMCG and media entertainment, Alex is passionate about future proofing business models through innovating the customer experience.

Scott has an extensive background in Marketing and Digital gained through his career in consulting, tourism and hospitality, financial services/insurance, tertiary education, utilities, and corporate professional services sectors/industries.
He has held senior marketing management roles in B2B and B2C in his over his 20 plus year career and has been a member of the Marketing Association since 1999. With the MA he joined the Northern Region Membership Committee in 2018 and became a member of the Digital Special Interest Group in 2020.
Scott holds undergraduate certificate and degree in Marketing and a post-graduate diploma, along with being a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Chartered Marketer. He has been a judge for the NZ Direct Marketing Awards and is a winner of international awards including HSMAI Silver Adrian Award and Travel Weekly Magellan Gold Award.
One of his current roles is as a Business Growth Enabler with Max Marketing, consulting to SME businesses in improving their marketing and digital effectiveness.

With nearly 20 years experience as a senior marketer in Sydney and Auckland with heavyweight clients in retail, property, banking, food & beverage, aviation and fashion — Mel loves to wear many hats!
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Adnan has been leading digital transformation for Fortune 500 brands for over 14+ years at global tech companies and agencies, having previously worked for Facebook, Microsoft & Initiative Media. He was one of the first four employees to join Facebook in Asia-Pacific, having helped launch Facebook in Australia and launched Facebook in New Zealand. Prior to this he ran partnerships at Microsoft in Australia.
In more recent years Adnan was a founding partner at one of the biggest marketing technology consultancies in New Zealand prior to exiting and co-founding Stitch - a new kind of advertising, marketing technology and customer data driven consultancy for the fragmented customer experience age.
Gabby is a self-confessed loyalty junkie and has worked in a range of agency and client - side roles over the last 15 years, all focused around developing customer engagement strategies, loyalty programs and retail analytics.
In addition to her current role at Datacom, Gabby is also the founder and chief strategist at Maven Loyalty, connecting the dots for organisations to make experiences more rewarding for their customers.
With her rich experience and background in customer engagement and loyalty, Gabby brings to the discussion her wealth of knowledge in direct response and will share her outlook on the digital brand vs. digital direct response debate.
Head of eCommerce
Digital is a world of connected specialists - CX, UX, development, marketing, content, social, search, product management – and Nigel sees his role as bringing them together to create digital-first organisations. He loves solving problems that make organisations stronger, more customer-centric and leaner, and he has a continual thirst for emerging consumer and industry trends and how they evolve our digital experience strategy.
With his team, he utilises lean start-up methodologies and experiment, learn and iterate their way into new propositions for key segments. Their focus is on collaboration, innovation, and digital-led customer experience design.
Nigel works closely with C-level sponsors to ensure that the digital strategy, roadmap and prioritisation approach supports the organisation’s strategic objectives.
Chief Operating Officer
Kirsty has been with us for over ten years and an is an expert in all things MA.
With her exceptional management skills, she oversees and coordinates the Product teams as well as managing the wider functions of the company.
After work, Kirsty enjoys some family time with her partner and two gorgeous daughters.
Senior Events Manager
Marilena is the MA’s Senior Events Manager and style icon. She employs meticulous planning, expert budgeting and creative problem solving to ensure all our events go off without a hitch so you have a great experience.
Beyond delivering original and memorable events and awards nights, Marilena’s hobbies include interior design, travelling and quality TV.
