TVNZ has joined the 2025 Professional Certification of Advanced Marketing Leadership (AML) programme as a key partner, reinforcing its commitment to shaping New Zealand’s top marketing talent and helping them be brilliant. The AML is New Zealand’s premier marketing programme, designed to guide senior marketers on their path to becoming marketing directors.
TVNZ Chief Revenue Officer, Valerie Walshe says “We’re proud to be a key partner behind this exciting programme and to play a role in developing the next generation of marketing leaders. Modern businesses are evolving rapidly, and today’s CMO must be agile, looking to the future while keeping an eye on the present. This programme’s unique blend of mentorship, insights and practical upskilling will give participants the tools they need to take their careers to the next level.”
As part of this partnership, TVNZ hosts the Speed Networking Session, where participants engage directly with New Zealand’s leading CMOs and agency heads, gaining invaluable insights and career opportunities.
“This is a standout feature of the programme and a testament to the incredible industry support behind it,” says John Miles, CEO of the NZ Marketing Association. “Each participant has three interviews with CMOs in a 30-minute period—over 100 interviews in half an hour!”
Jodi O’Donnell, CEO of TVNZ, will lead a session on ‘Making the Hard Calls’, helping marketers navigate tough decisions, and will join the panel ‘How to Influence the C-Suite’, sharing strategies to align marketing with executive leadership. “Jodi is a fantastic role model for up-and-coming marketers, having worked her way through the ranks of marketing to lead at the highest level,” adds John.
Registrations for the 2025 cohort are now closed, with the Marketing Association receiving a record number of applications from which 40 people have been chosen.
